Our Story
Home Cafe was dreamt-up and opened by Meg Fry (and a lot of supportive friends!) in 2017 with the vision for being a central community space at the heart of our neighbourhood. Read on to find out more
"We are properly reclaiming radical hospitality - offering more than you get at other high street coffee shops. True hospitality - giving your guests exactly what they need in that exact moment. We do that every day."
"Consideration covers our desire for ethical and responsible consumerism. We stand for human rights, and for the environment. We put a lot of thought into the food we use."
"Bridge-building - you are interacting - pulling things together and making it work. You could have diverse groups that remain seperate - we want to bring people together."
"We create a safe space that enables people to find out who they are to then be able to go and do that."
"When we share our stories with each other and those who come into the cafe share theirs, it has an impactful change on them when they walk back out."
"When people tell us their stories its not just the details, but they also share the impact on them of the things that they are sharing. It builds connections and empathy. It leads to empowerment. It lights a light."
