Rooted at Home
Rooted at Home is a project run out of Home Cafe for women seeking sanctuary in our neighbourhood. It is a longterm project of volunteering, well-being, training, support, befriending and the learning of new skills.
Rooted at Home involves training with and being part of our team, both in the kitchen and the wider community. Learning new skills, both in the kitchen and front of house, to support individuals to move into the new chapter of their lives.
Ultimately the project is about friendship, community, being together, eating food and building new relationships!
If you'd like to get more information or join us please email contact@homecommunitycafe.co.uk and ask about Rooted at Home
Community Meal
Our monthly community meal, run in collaboration with St Andrews, is a chance to get to meet new people in your community over a delicious home cooked meal.
Everyone is welcome and there is no agenda other than food and conversation!
We ask for voluntary £2.50 donation towards the cost of the meal and we'd love you to bring a dessert for our communal pudding table if you are able.
We'd be so happy to see you!
Email communitymealearlsfield@gmail.com to let us know if your coming or to get some more information
SEN Volunteering
Over the years we have welcomed a local special needs school to come along with their students and support staff. It's a weekly session where tasks have been set up specifically for them and where they can be valued, appreciated and part of the community as well as addressing the inequality in society for those with disabilities.
Work Experience for Kids in Care
Recently we were able to offer voluntary and work experience opportunities to young people who face additional barriers in life and to support them into adulthood. This is something we are passionate about and look forward to continue to support and develop.
Inclusive Work Experience
As part of a diverse and inclusive community cafe, we have been able to provide children with hearing, speech and language and communication needs a work expericence plan to support them in their learning journey and development into adulthood in a safe environment. This is a very new project and one we are proud to support.
Chatty Cafe with Marcia
Home Community Cafe is a place where all are welcomed. We are starting a Chatty Cafe where we step away from devices, worries and hectic life. Come together to share experiences, exchange stories, laugh, cry (if needed) in an attempt to reconnect.
We will be meeting on Mondays, come and join us!
Bereavement
We have been hosting Wandsworth Bereavement Services for the last couple of years. Once a month on Tuesdays they meet in our welcoming space, to meet, chat and support each other through grief.
This is an important and vital service that we are so proud to be able to support.
If this is something you are in need of please do get in touch with them via their website.
